Fans of Skate, Shaun White Snowboarding, and SSX will be pleased to learn that there’s a new game on the market for extreme sports fanatics. Ubisoft’s Steep will be released 2nd December for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The standard edition of the game will be priced at £39.99 and the Gold Edition at £49.99. The Gold Edition will include the season pass and an exclusive Snowman Costume.
Steep is a massive open world game, set in the Alps and Alaska. Both single and multiplayer is available along with the added feature of recording your runs and wipe-outs and sharing them on social media. Choose your own method of descending, parachuting, wing suits, skis, and of course snowboarding are all playable.
A wide variety of challenges can be completed; these challenges will put your creativity and skills to the test. Big Air, Proximity Flying, and Forest Slaloms are among the many challenges available. Exploring the world should keep most players busy for several hours. We’re looking forward to finding the best runs and drop-ins.
You can sign up to play the now active Beta on your preferred platform. Here at Daily Spawn, we’ve been playing the Beta. Steep’s greatest asset is the freedom, being able to throw yourself down a mountain, wipe out, then start again, is one of our favourite things to do. It’s difficult to perform flashy and impressive stunts however. While grinding doesn’t currently feature in the Beta it may be something Ubisoft will consider adding, when the full game is released.
If you’re someone that loved past snowboarding and skating releases, then this is the game for you. The game will fill a void in the current market and hopefully receive a warm welcome.
Let us know what you think about the game, have you played the beta? We’ll be looking forward to playing this game when released.
